Car For Parts ("we", "us") operates the Car For Parts iOS app and website (the "Service"). This policy explains what we collect and why.
To operate the marketplace: show listings, connect buyers and sellers, process the listing fee through Apple, enforce that fee and prevent abuse, and keep the Service safe. We do not sell your personal information.
The listing fee is processed by Apple via In-App Purchase. We receive confirmation that a purchase occurred but not your payment-card details. Transactions between buyers and sellers happen in person and are not processed by us.
Because the fee is owed per device, we use Apple's DeviceCheck to keep a device-level flag of whether a listing fee is outstanding. This lets us require the fee to be settled before listing again — even if someone signs in with a different Apple ID or reinstalls the app on the same device — and prevents people from avoiding the fee. We do not receive a persistent device identifier; Apple stores this flag for the device and we only read/set whether a fee is owed. If you believe a fee flag is on your device in error (for example, you acquired a used device), contact us and we can clear it.
We use Google Firebase (Google LLC) for authentication, database, storage, and notifications, and Apple (App Store In-App Purchase and DeviceCheck) for payments and device-level fee status. Vehicle reference data comes from the U.S. NHTSA. We disclose information if required by law.
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your listings, photos, and messages. You can block other users and report content from within the app.
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
